Biggest Jump Of The Week: Alec Benjamin – If We Have Each Other (+18)
New Entrants:
We have 6 new entrants this week with the first one coming from Asher Angel. His song is called One Thought Away. To be honest, he seems to be like Austin Brown 2.0, but he’s not as good. His song is pretty underwhelming and more underwhelming than In Betweenin’. I have a strong feeling that this song isn’t going to last long on the countdown. I just don’t see it happening.
After Miley Cyrus sold out a couple years ago, I thought she wasn’t going to add so much more great songs. However, Mother’s Daughter is great. She does show her talent in this song and it has a meaning. It’s hard to believe that this is from the newer Miley Cyrus because it’s so good.
SHAED - Trampoline is yet another underwhelming song. It’s more mediocre now than crap. But TBH, this song has a very underwhelming production that ruins the song. His voice isn’t that great either. This may grow on me tho.
The next debut is the best debut. Mark Ronson collaborates with Camila Cabello in a song called Find U Again. He had a #1 hit in 2015 with Bruno Mars called Uptown Funk and that song was overrated. It seems as his more recent songs should’ve been hits instead. Nothing Breaks Like A Heart flopped on Hits 1 and I wasn’t happy that it did. Hopefully, this song won’t flop.
I think Stephen Puth is very talented, but he doesn’t show his talent in Look Away. I find this song to be mediocre at best. It’s that type of song that will never be remembered after it leaves the countdown. And not just it’s underwhelming, but it’ll probably also flop like Sexual Vibe did.
I love OneRepublic. They’re a really good band. I like Rescue Me and it’s pretty catchy. I find it a great song but it’s nowhere near as good as their older work. Songs like All The Right, Good Life, and Counting Stars easily beat this song. I know OneRepublic went to a different direction. I just think that they’re more poppy songs are better.
Best Debut: Mark Ronson/Camila Cabello - Find U Again
HitBound
- Jax Jones/Bebe Rexha – Harder
- Panic! At The Disco – Roaring 20s (DEBUT)
- Zara Larsson – All The Time
- Ellie Goulding/Juice WRLD – Hate Me
- Twenty One Pilots – The Hype (DEBUT)
- Taylor Swift – The Archer
- Alec Benjamin – Jesus In LA (DEBUT)
- Sam Smith – How Do You Sleep?
- Katy Perry – Small Talk (DEBUT)
- Ariana Grande/Social House – Boyfriend (DEBUT)
- Thomas Rhett – Look What God Gave Her
- Ed Sheeran/Khalid – Beautiful People
- Dominic Fike – 3 Nights
- Jonas Brothers – Only Human
- Lizzo – Good As Hell (DEBUT)
Roaring 20s is bad for P!ATD standards, The Hype is underwhelming, Jesus In LA is decent but it may likely grow on me, Small Talk Shows that Katy evolved to the worst, Boyfriend is the new best HitBound song, and Good As Hell is the new worst.
Top 5 HitBound:
- Ariana Grande/Social House - Boyfriend
- Zara Larsson - All The Time
- Jonas Brothers - Only Human
- Jax Jones/Bebe Rexha - Harder
- Thomas Rhett - Look What God Gave Her
Blurb U Again:
Wow, over half of the top 10 songs are top 10 entrances. To be honest, Senorita is the only one of the 6 that deserve to enter the top 10.
How the fuck did songs like Marshmello/Bastille - Happier and Imagine Dragons - Bad Liar survive a 6 exit week?
As long as Shawn Mendes - If I Cant Have You is #1, we’ll be fine. It’s the only great song in the top 10.
Both of the biggest jumps were well deserved. Neither of these songs were at least good. Now hopefully, we’ll see Kaskade/Meghan Trainor - With You flop here.
The point that Panic! At The Disco - High Hopes is still here makes me wanna scream in agony. This was never that great of a song and the overplay only made things worse. I’m really hoping that this song will leave within’ the next few weeks.
AJR - 100 Bad Days shouldn’t have jumped all the way to the top 20. Now I’m very annoyed by this. Each listen, this song gets worse and worse. At least it wasn’t the biggest jump.
Yep, Jonas Brothers - Cool is probably going to leave before Sucker does.
Thank the voters for putting Halsey - Without Me in the bottom third of the countdown. Now, keep dropping and leave within’ the next few weeks.
Taylor Swift - You Need To Calm Down dropping was unexpected but it was a good thing. This song is nowhere near as good as ME! is.
As far as our exits go, we have yet another 6 exit week. Push Baby - Mama’s House was never even good to begin with. This band formerly known as Rixton has became a Fall Out Boy wannabe. Twenty One Pilots - Chlorine was also never even good. Ellie Goulding/Diplo - Close To Me completely faded on me. Overplay killed it. Martin Garrix/Macklemore/Patrick Stump - Summer Days and Bazzi - Paradise we’re getting old so it was about time they left. Now, for the exit I’m mostly disappointed for, Sam Smith/Normani - Dancing With A Stranger. This is by far Sam Smith’s best work and Normani also did a very good job in it. It’ll definitely be missed by me.
