2018 YE Post Part 1: 2018 A Year In Review

2018 was a great year. TBH, I’ll have to disagree with others in 2018 in music. It was a great year for music. It was my favorite year in general. However, I still feel very sad for Avicii’s death. He passed away back in April from suicide. We also had our first 7 exit week this year in almost 3 years. That’s something. In other news, I’ve graduated high school this year and I’m off to college. I’ve also had a prom back in June.

There were a lot of bad songs in 2018. Rap music was really bad. A lot of them made Hits 1 unfortunately. Now, with #1 being the worst, here’s the worst songs of 2018.

Now, out of these 21 songs, it’s time to mention my 2018 LOP Award. That means my favorite songs that didn’t graduate HitBound this year. There’s a ton of good songs and you can easily see that All Night is the worst. This songs was from an artist I truly enjoy. It was on of the first songs to leave HitBound this year. Now, I may present to you my LOP Award this year.

Biggest Whiffs:
First off, here’s my Biggest Whiff of Hits 1. It’s a song that I really like but it never made Hits 1, unfortunately. I really like this song and it should’ve definitely made it to Hits 1. And now without further ado, here’s my Biggest Whiff Of Hits 1.
My Biggest Whiff Of 2018: Nicki Minaj/Ariana Grande - Bed
Now, let’s To the actual Biggest Whiff. It was on the Hits 1 voting poll, it it never made HitBound or the countdown. It was popular on many platforms as well including the Billboard. To be honest, I don’t like this song but let’s go.
Actual Biggest Whiff Of 2018: Drake - Nice For What

Song That Should’ve Made Big:
Now, there’s one song that I really enjoy, but it’s a shame that it didn’t make it big. It should’ve made it big because I really love this song so much. It’s on Jack’s rankdown and it’s a song that I really loved. Now, here’s a song that should’ve been a Hit.
2018 Song That Should’ve Made Big: Bebe Rexha/Quavo - 2 Souls On Fire

Weeks:
Now, the next important thing is to present to you the best and worst weeks. I’ll have to tell you that this year’s countdown activity has been growing within the past 2 years. We had a 7 exit week earlier this year, but it wasn’t the best week. Now, it’s time for my favorite and least favorite weeks of 2018.
Best Week Of 2018: 06/16/18
Worst Week Of 2018: 09/15/18

Tenure Trophies:
There’s have been many short tenured songs this year. A couple of 2 weekers, few 3 weekers, some 4 weekers, and a whole bunch of 5 weekers. But one song was on the countdown this year for only one week here’s it is.
Shortest Tenured Song Of 2018: Lady Gaga - I’ll Never Love Again (10/27/18-11/03/18)
Now our longest tenured song is still here but it mad its debut back in January. Now with further ado, here it is.

Biggest Biggest Jump Of The Year:
Post Malone/Ty Dolla $ign - Psycho (+23 on 6/23/18)
Now as for the smallest biggest drop this year, I honestly think it’s the smallest biggest drop we’ve ever had in SXM Hits 1 history. It was also a 3 way Tie. Here’s the smallest biggest drops this year.

And finally, the smallest biggest jump this year happened twice. It’s not as small as the 3 drops. One of the weeks had a the smallest biggest jump in the same week as the 3 smallest biggest drops.
