Biggest DRRRRRRROP!!! Of The Week: Maroon 5/Cardi B – Girls Like You (–9)

Biggest Jump Of The Week: Panic! At The Disco – Hey Look Ma, I Made It (+12)

New Entrants:
Moves is such a good song. It’s really catchy and I wanna dance whenever this song comes on. It’s not his best as songs like Troublemaker and Up were better.

Lauren Jauregui is the third member from Fifth Harmony to get a song outside of the group. To be honest, she isn’t as good as Camila or Normandi. I think Expectations a good song, but it’s not great. Her vocals could have much better improvement.

I didn’t expect Sweet But Psycho to debut this week. It’s a really good song. However, it may not be too long before I get sick of it.

HitBound:
• Dan + Shay – Speechless
• Alessia Cara – Trust My Lonely
• TWENTY ØNE PILØTS – Chlorine
• Seeb/BΔSTILLE – Grip (DEBUT)
• Zara Larsson – Ruin My Life
• Imagine Dragons – Machine
• Steve Aoki/BTS – Waste It On Me
• Dean Lewis – Be Alright
• Ellie Goulding/Diplo – Close To Me
• Mark Ronson/Miley Cyrus – Nothing Breaks Like A Heart
• James Arthur – Empty Space
• Charli XCX/Troye Sivan – 1999 (DEBUT)
• Khalid – Better
• Lauren Daigle – You Say (DEBUT)
• 5 Seconds Of Summer – Killer Queen
I do not see what’s so good about Grip. I honestly find it boring. 1999 is very catchy. You Say isn’t something I would get into. Let’s see if it’ll grow on me in the future.

Top 5 HitBound:
  1. Zara Larsson - Ruin My Life
  2. Charli XCX/Troye Sivan - 1999
  3. Alessia Cara - Trust My Lonely
  4. Ellie Goulding/Diplo – Close To Me
  5. Mark Ronson/Miley Cyrus – Nothing Breaks Like A Heart

Blurbpectations:
This was a really good week other than God Is A Woman’s departure.

George Ezra - Shotgun dropped back into the bottom 5. Let’s have this song not impact he radio in January. It really needs to go.

I don’t think Maroon 5 - Girls Like You had a large enough biggest drop. It needs to be in the bottom third of the countdown at least.

Yes, I’m very happy about the new #1. I mean I would take This Feeling over Youngblood or High Hopes any day. The other 2 don’t just need to leave the top 5, but it needs to get into the bottom half of the countdown.

I’m actually sad that Shawn Mendes - In My Blood will most likely leave next week.

How can people tolerate Lady Gaga - Shallow? It keeps becoming a more mediocre song at the moment. The vocals aren’t good and she was better with I’ll Never Love Again.

I don’t know when Imagine Dragons - Whatever It Takes is going to leave the countdown as it keeps hanging onto the #31 spot.

We really need to have a 6+ exit week soon. I mean there’s still less green/purple songs on the countdown than there is in the other colors.

The Middle better not last a year on the countdown. Same with Say Amen (Saturday Night) and Whatever It Takes.

Lauv/Julia Michaels - There’s No Way should not be jumping.

Most Missed Song: Katy Perry - Roar

Throwback Pick: Jesse McCartney- Beautiful Soul (2004)

You Use To Meet Me On The Blurb Side:
I’m not very happy about George Ezra - Shotgun making a comeback.

How is I Wanna Know still here? It flopped everywhere else.

The biggest jump shouldn’t happen, honestly. I’m not a fan of Little Mix in general.

Lady Gaga/Bradley Cooper - Shallow is dropping but I heard it on the survey so it’s sadly not going to leave anytime soon.

Ariana Grande - God Is A Woman is detonated to leave next week. TBH, it’s no longer the best countdown song. This is because I’ve grown into I’m A Mess even more.

Consequences finally made its deserved spot in the top 20.

I do not see Alec Benjamin - Let Me Down Slowly or Lauv/Julia Michaels - There’s No Way lasting.

Who still listens to Youngblood? It’s so annoying and I can’t stand it anymore.

I forgot that Imagine Dragons - Whatever It Takes was still on the countdown.

Shawn Mendes/Zedd - Lost In Japan better not flop. It’s a really good song.

Most Missed Song: Justin Bieber - Sorry

2018 YE Post Part 1: 2018 A Year In Review

2018 was a great year. TBH, I’ll have to disagree with others in 2018 in music. It was a great year for music. It was my favorite year in general. However, I still feel very sad for Avicii’s death. He passed away back in April from suicide. We also had our first 7 exit week this year in almost 3 years. That’s something. In other news, I’ve graduated high school this year and I’m off to college. I’ve also had a prom back in June.

There were a lot of bad songs in 2018. Rap music was really bad. A lot of them made Hits 1 unfortunately. Now, with #1 being the worst, here’s the worst songs of 2018.
Bottom 5 Songs Of 2018:
  1. Drake - God’s Plan
  2. AJR - Burn The House Down
  3. Post Malone - Psycho
  4. Tiësto & Dzeko/Preme/Post Malone – Jackie Chan
  5. Lauv - I Like Me Better

Now, we’ve had a lot of #1s this year. Some of them were good, and others, not so much. Now I may present to you the all the #1s of 2018.

Best Breakout Artist Of 2018: NF
Worst Breakout Artist Of 2018: Lauv

We’ve had plenty of songs that were on HitBound. However, some of them didn’t make the list, unfortunately. Here’s the list of all the songs that were on HitBound this year but never even made the countdown.

Lights Over Paris Award:
Now, out of these 21 songs, it’s time to mention my 2018 LOP Award. That means my favorite songs that didn’t graduate HitBound this year. There’s a ton of good songs and you can easily see that All Night is the worst. This songs was from an artist I truly enjoy. It was on of the first songs to leave HitBound this year. Now, I may present to you my LOP Award this year.
2018 Lights Over Paris Hit-Bound Hero Award Winner: Clean Bandit/Julia Michaels - I Miss You

Biggest Whiffs:
First off, here’s my Biggest Whiff of Hits 1. It’s a song that I really like but it never made Hits 1, unfortunately. I really like this song and it should’ve definitely made it to Hits 1. And now without further ado, here’s my Biggest Whiff Of Hits 1.
My Biggest Whiff Of 2018: Nicki Minaj/Ariana Grande - Bed
Now, let’s To the actual Biggest Whiff. It was on the Hits 1 voting poll, it it never made HitBound or the countdown. It was popular on many platforms as well including the Billboard. To be honest, I don’t like this song but let’s go.
Actual Biggest Whiff Of 2018: Drake - Nice For What

Song That Should’ve Made Big:
Now, there’s one song that I really enjoy, but it’s a shame that it didn’t make it big. It should’ve made it big because I really love this song so much. It’s on Jack’s rankdown and it’s a song that I really loved. Now, here’s a song that should’ve been a Hit.
2018 Song That Should’ve Made Big: Bebe Rexha/Quavo - 2 Souls On Fire

Weeks:
Now, the next important thing is to present to you the best and worst weeks. I’ll have to tell you that this year’s countdown activity has been growing within the past 2 years. We had a 7 exit week earlier this year, but it wasn’t the best week. Now, it’s time for my favorite and least favorite weeks of 2018.
Best Week Of 2018: 06/16/18
Worst Week Of 2018: 09/15/18

Tenure Trophies:
There’s have been many short tenured songs this year. A couple of 2 weekers, few 3 weekers, some 4 weekers, and a whole bunch of 5 weekers. But one song was on the countdown this year for only one week here’s it is.
Shortest Tenured Song Of 2018: Lady Gaga - I’ll Never Love Again (10/27/18-11/03/18)
Now our longest tenured song is still here but it mad its debut back in January. Now with further ado, here it is.
Longest Tenured Song Of 2018: Zedd/Maren Morris/Grey - The Middle (2/3/18 - Still There)

Biggest Movers:
Now I may present to you the biggest biggest drop first. Last year, we didn’t have any drops with 30+ spots but this year, we had 2. Here they are.
Biggest Biggest Drop Of The Year:
NF - Lie (-31 on 10/20/18)
Zedd/Elley Duhé - Happy Now (-31 on 11/3/18)
Now as for the jump, we didn’t have any 30+ jumps but one week had the biggest biggest drop. Now, here’s the week.
Biggest Biggest Jump Of The Year:
Post Malone/Ty Dolla $ign - Psycho (+23 on 6/23/18)
Now as for the smallest biggest drop this year, I honestly think it’s the smallest biggest drop we’ve ever had in SXM Hits 1 history. It was also a 3 way Tie. Here’s the smallest biggest drops this year.
Smallest Biggest Drop Of The Year:
Camila Cabello - Never Be The Same (-5 on 2/17/18)
Eminem/Ed Sheeran - River (-5 on 2/17/18)
Lauv - I Like Me Better (-5 on 2/17/18)
And finally, the smallest biggest jump this year happened twice. It’s not as small as the 3 drops. One of the weeks had a the smallest biggest jump in the same week as the 3 smallest biggest drops. And the other week was a tie of 2 songs. Now, here’s the 3 songs that had such small biggest jumps this year.
Smallest Biggest Jump Of The Year:
NF - Let You Down (+8 on 2/17/18)
U2/Cheat Codes - Love Is Bigger Than Anything In Its Way (+8 on 6/30/18)

Liam Payne/J Balvin - Familiar (+8 on 6/30/18)

That wraps up part 1. Now it's time to wait for part 2.
